I have discussed the possibility of accessing and editing the exe to allow us to modify the games to our specfications with jane, by adding new game modes and features, and she told me it is near-impossible. you need to know the specifications for the exe compression and use the correct stuff and options.

Alternatively we could contact Atari and ask, seeing how crashday is pretty much non-profitable now, if we could have a method of accessing and modifying crashday's exe, possible with a second SDK? This is unlikely to happen lol.

or we could just say f**k it and enjoy the game we have :P

ah, this was about passwords...i have a good idea....NEW PASSWORDS :mrgreen: why do you think i invented the RCG password lol. surely if too many people know the old password we just need to make a new one hahaha :shockblue:

hi guys, sorry for making you wait.....
our mod uses a winsock hook that is injected between the game and the real winsock, so we have the control of the network, but this is not a good way....
first of all i'm trying to figure out how to know if the game is hosting or is a simple client, then i want to use a better way to kick (i need to hook also directinput to disable game input while kicking someone)
another thing: my way to kick a player is cutting his connection, i want to find a better way ( maybe DisconnectPlayer(ID)? )

other news soon

edit: exploring the exe i found some command-line startup options:

-fastload
-skipvideo
-window
-debug

for now i have only the executable and i can't test them, can someone tell me what are the "fastload" and "debug" options for?

fastload: it's a "fast loading" for bad graphic cards, some settings like pixel shader are disabled with this
debug: it's the window mode

heres some suggestion (i dont know much about programming stuff)
so from what i read, you got the mod to controll the network. would it be possible to use keys/keybinds to kick ppl, so that u dont have to enter anything in the chat. - just a thought -

ur a bit out of date. its a really old tek, jane used to do it but it took her while, then i found this program called netpeeker u just cut out players connection by 1 click and player is kicked simple as that.


he wants to send the "host closed" packet to the client, but ur program isn't good anyway. Roby can kick players ingame by chat input or somethings like that.

it will be the same..... if they will give us the source code, we can fix a lot of bugs, and also add those features... anyway we're doing everything that we can.

well, I have a question before I upload the mod.
do you want us to continue this mod or just upload as it is now?

it hasn't many features the console... just kick and three commands...
I think the community is kinda dead, so I think it would be a waste of time, but just to be sure, I'll wait for your answers...

rename your crashday.exe in crashday12.exe, and check if it works...
